Unveiled in August of 2015, Boling Air Media's flagship "Airship Alex" began flying for California State University, Fresno Athletics. The airship using the callsign #Bulldog1 flew a short-term branding contract, to help with awareness and fan engagement leading up to and during the Men's 2015 Football Season. This initial run for the Bulldogs took to the skies over California, and garnered an enormous amount of press and attention. Bulldog1 continued to fly throughout the season and going forward will be available to select advertisers wishing to co-brand with the University and the Athletics Department.
The initial launch and subsequent flights of the airship gained media attention on both a local and national level. The media buy-in was fantastic, with ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports, USA Today, CBS Sports and many more, along with all the local media channels, providing excellent coverage of the aircraft and the flights. The broadcasters of the nationally televised games repeatedly make reference to the airship and often times show agency supplied video footage featuring our key advertising partners. This campaign really highlights the content-piece generation of a campaign of this scale.
